Openness: A Key Ingredient to Happiness
Because openness is the first step towards tolerance… and without tolerance, happiness cannot thrive.
A strong majority of respondents (70%) consider that different cultural communities positively change the social dynamic of their city. This result is encouraging, since the more respondents say they agree with this statement, the more their happiness index is enhanced.
Tolerance decreases slightly with a respondent’s age and Non-Francophones are considerably more numerous than Francophones to agree with this statement (80% vs. 68%).
Not surprisingly, the highest level of agreement with this statement can be found in Montréal and the lowest in regional areas.
